What are the five golden rules of a photography website?
- Curate your images. I have to be sold by what I see first. No blurry photos, no filler images, nothing that doesn’t belong. High-resolution, intentional, consistent. Ask yourself: are these your five best images at hello?
- Keep it simple. Nobody is reading paragraphs of text. Remove the chaos. A calm, clean website lets your work breathe.
- Typography matters. The fonts you choose, the size, the color. Keep it readable. Black. Nothing fancy, nothing small. If I have to work to read it, I give up.
- Keep your website fresh and your copyright year. Updated work, current sessions, relevant content. An outdated website tells me you might be out of business.
- Make scrolling an experience. Clean, modern flow. Your visitor should feel relaxed moving through your site, not overwhelmed. Every section should feel intentional.
